Technical Director Dwight Hornibrook (Email)
We are very pleased to introduce our new Technical Director, Dwight Hornibrook. Dwight brings an impressive resume and a wealth of experience to TC United. Dwight is the Head Coach of the highly successful Men's soccer team at SUNY Cortland and holds a Canadian 'A' coaching license.
Dwight's primary responsibilities within the Club will include directing the activities and development of TC United coaches and players primarily in the U14 through U19 age groups. He will conduct clinics, design training priorities, select Club coaches, and serve as a resource to players and coaches within the Club.
As the head coach of the SUNY Cortland Red Dragons since 2004, Dwight has consistently led his teams into to the SUNYAC playoffs and in all Dwight's players have earned 13 All-SUNYAC and two all-region honors.
Prior to SUNY Cortland, Dwight was the head coach of the Men's Soccer Team at Houghton College from 1995-2003 where he posted a record of 119-46-13 and led his team to the AMC North Division title. Dwight was named the AMC North Division and the NSCAA/adidas Northeast Region Coach of the Year in 2003.
In addition to his extensive collegiate coaching experience Dwight's international and professional coaching credentials include his roles as North American Scout for Middlesbrough FC of the English Premier league, coaching in the Canadian Professional Soccer League and as a member of the Canadian National Team staff.
Within the area of youth soccer development, Dwight was an Atlantic Regional Training Center Coach from 1987-94. The Center was a high performance center for the Canadian National Teams' Program and focused specifically on player and coach development. During that period, Dwight worked with youth from U12 and older, who aspired to play for Provincial, Regional, National, and Professional teams. Several players, both boys and girls, from the Region represented Canada internationally.
Dwight holds a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education and a Master's degree in Sports Science. He and his wife, Donna, who is the field hockey coach at Cornell University, currently reside in Lansing, N.Y., with their two daughters, Kathryn and Emily.
